Holiday Message from CEO Martin Brooks

Hi Everyone!

I just finished reading a book entitled “The same kind of different as me”! It is a very touching story about a well-to-do family in Texas and what happens to them and the people they served in a homeless shelter in Fort Worth, Texas. Deborah Hall wanted to do more to help the homeless, so she convinced her husband, Ron, to serve meals with her to the homeless every Tuesday evening. She had a dream about a powerful person who would do great things for the homeless people. One night she found herself serving a meal to the person in her dream. His name is Denver.

Deborah wanted her husband to become friends with Denver. So, Ron started picking Denver up occasionally for breakfast or other meals. It took a long time for Ron to “break the ice” with Denver who had been homeless for decades. Finally, one night when the two of them were having dinner in a restaurant, Denver asked Ron, “What do you want from me?” Ron answered, “I just want to be your friend.” Denver then told Ron that a lot of men fish in a manner that’s referred to as “catch and release”, i.e., they catch a fish for fun and then release it back into the water. But, to Denver fishing is when you catch a fish, take it home, show it off to your family, and then cook it for dinner. Denver then asked Ron this question, “Is this going to be a “catch and release” friendship, or is it going to be forever?” It becomes a “forever relationship” as Denver gradually becomes a full-fledged member of the Hall family. The story just gets better and better from that point forward.

I don’t want to spoil the story for those of you who may want to read the book, so I won’t give you any more details. But, what I want to say is that an amazing feeling of gratitude came over me as I read the book and realized just how blessed we are as a family and as a company. It also made me realize just how many people there are, even in our own Country, who are in need of our friendship and assistance.

We here at MXI Corp want to express to each of you are friendship and love during this Holiday Season. May each of you experience a Thanksgiving filled with loving family and friends.
